musical...happy Valentine's Day...

IF music be the food of love play on? What was Shakespeare thinking!

Anyway, if you read this as you are reaching for your coffee, before you turn on your chosen morning television show, or as you look for inspiration before going for a jog around the block....

Happy friggin' Valentine's Day! (she said angrily...hoping your cheerful Friday mood would be tainted by a thunderstorm as you put on your sweat band and started doing eighties-like-stretches before your Friday morning 10km run - just an easy one today- before indulging in a breakfast made by your betrothed with a single red rose in a vase on the breakfast tray...then your betrothed gives you a puppy...and you both look perfect).

Nah, I'm not bitter. Seriously, not in the slightest!

Last year I was alone on Valentine's Day... and I was in Paris.

But I won't be alone today! I'll be at work, and then I'm stealing my friend from her boyfriend for the night to attend a theatre event with me. It'll be glorious!

I was given two free tickets for a show and imagined that all my girlfriends would be obliged to spend time with their significant others tomorrow night and I wouldn't be able to rope in my usual "plus ones".

The row I'd be sitting in would be: person.person.person.person.Maree.spareseat.person.person.person.

But thanks to Sally (I've mentioned her a number of times in my posts - it's starting to seem like I only have one friend, when I have at least four...at least) the row will not be void a human.

Anyway, if music be the food of love, I have a treat surprise for you.

Now, you can take this next part of my blog in the way that I'm trying to get some audience participation going on here, or you can take it in the way that I ran out of time to really fulfil what I'm going to do...hmmmmm. Little bit of column A, little bit of column B... Anyway - click on the below and guess what song this is...it's the intro. The full version will be posted on the weekend (if this link doesn't work I'll say: "damn you technology"...and start sending my blog attached to the legs of seagulls...that'll be reliable). IF you can't see the pic below (which may happen if you're on you iPad or iPhone) - try this link: here

If you know it straight away (Nick) (..wahoo five friends!) keep it to yourself for a few days...actually just post it immediately. I can't see Blogger being shut down from the major reaction...

Anyway, I'll be back on the weekend! See you then.

  1. Hi Maree! Where did you get that talent from? Any chance its a slow Maree interpretation of Gotye's Somebody that I used to know? MG

  2. Hi MG, good guess but no! I'll give you a clue…it's usually played on piano, so if you can transpose the chords to be for piano you may be closer! xx
